As usual Japanese invented a new technology that drives a motor car
sounds cool, is in’t it? In future generations we may not able to get petroleum products like petrol, diesel etc., A Japanese company Genepax presented an eco-friendly car that runs on water. The car has fuel cell that extracts hydrogen from water when we pour water into the car’s tank. The fuel cell releases electrons and produce electric power which is used to run the car. This car can able to run for an hour for one liter water with a speed of 80 km/hr. So we have to expect more from Japanese car

One filipino inventor also invented water fueled car[dunno if this is the one].. too bad the Philippine government do not support great inventions that could change our lives for the better.
and so filipino inventors are forced to sell their products to other foreign companies..
Just to clarify, this car cannot run solely on water. It will always require more energy to split water into hydrogen and oxygen than can be produced from this hydrogen and oxygen. This is basic thermodynamics and cannot be overcome.
I’m pretty sure there is a reactive metal or other compound in the hydrogen generator that reacts with the water to produce hydrogen. IIRC, this car uses a reaction between aluminum and water, producing hydrogen and aluminum hydroxide. There is no free lunch, and aluminum is just acting as an energy carrier. The maximum energy attainable from this system is less than or equal to the minimum amount of energy required to produce aluminum from aluminum hydroxide.
Just remember that when it comes to thermodynamics, there is no free lunch. There will never be a car that runs solely on water (without first perfecting nuclear fusion).
Yeeeaaaahh…That is NOT a water powered car, it is hydrogen powered. When you put hydrogen on one side and oxygen on the other side of a fuel cell, it produces power and a by-product of water, the hydrogen and oxygen are extracted from water put in the car when power is applied.
@Brian–hear, hear
But people won’t likely be doing their homework. They just hear “a car that runs on water ZOMG!!11!” and think its the best thing since sliced bread. People have been trying to beat thermodynamics for hundreds of years, and there hasn’t been one winner yet. Good luck to the people still trying to do it.
Ok so Reuters just used their airtime time covering a multi million dollar Japanese scam, I’m sure.
