But actually this file limit is a very crucial point for the people who want to build image galleries, stock photos etc., Actually because of this file limit hosting companies suspend some websites. This problem is mainly for the people who have shared hosting. In dedicated hosting they don’t have any file limits. There are different hosting companies like Hostgator, 1and1, Hostican etc., Hostgator is a very good hosting company with great support and good response but the main problem is that they give only 50,000 files/inodes for every shared hosting. They don’t bother about the file size whether it is 4GB or 4KB. They count each and every single file.
If the limit crossed 1,00,000 they will give some warnings and they will give advice to buy dedicated hosting. So these are the main marketing tricks that are played by most of the hosting companies. So 1and1 is somewhat better than Hostgator in the sense of file limit. 1and1 people give 2,00,000 files per shared web hosting some what better than the Hostgator. If you want to maintain a wallpapers web site or a stock photography website it is better to go to 1and1 rather Hostgator. But Hostgator is very good to maintain a PHP website.
