Google Android Operating system was introduced by HTC. HTC Dream Mobile phone is the first Android OS based mobile phone. HTC Dream is also known as Google G1.
Android Operating system is run on Linux platform. Google’s Android Operating system for mobiles phones supports a wide varaity of media formats such as MPEG-4,H.264,MP3,OGG,ACC,AMR,MIDI,JPEG,GIF and PNG. Because Android is an open source project there are a number of application for the Android based mobile phones. Google already started Android Market. Number of open source applications are there at Android Market.
Recently Airtel and HTC launched HTC Magic (an Android powered mobile phone) in India. HTC Magic avilable for 29,000INR. Samsung is also annouced their Android powered mobile phone Samsung I7500.
