The youngest planet ever in the Universe was discovered :

Youngest Planet
For the first time the birth of a planet in the Universe was captured using the telescopes. The planet which is still taking shape is revolving round a sun-like star which is at a distance of 457 billion light years. The newly spotted planet was named LkCa 15 b with discs of dust near the planet and almost as big as the Jupiter in our Solar system. The new planet LkCa 15 b started to take shape about 50,000 to 100,000 years and was the youngest planet ever discovered in the Universe.
The discovery was made by Dr.Adam Kraus of the University of Hawaii using the telescopes on Mauna Kea island, in collaboration with his colleague Dr.Michael Ireland from Macquarie University and the Australian Astronomical Observatory. “Previously scientists were not able to observe such young planets with telescopes due to the outshining light from their planet Solar systems. Mirrors were used to cancel out the starlight to observe a clear picture of LkCa 15 b”, said Dr. Kraus. According to Dr. Kraus the planet LkCa 15 b appears deep red since it is still glowing from the heat of being formed. Scientists believe that this discovery may give answers for the earlier planet formation in the Universe.
